Yeosu Yeoja Bay cockle geographical indication registration

Cockle harvested from the Yeoja Bay tidal flats in Yeosu was registered as Geographical Indication seafood No. 20. With 235 local fishery households producing about 22,000 tons a year (roughly 73% of national output), the registration officially recognizes the safety and quality of Yeoja Bay cockle and is expected to strengthen the region's seafood brand competitiveness.
